Communitas Training Events

Our programme of events will be evolving in response to demand, but will initially take the form of Open Evenings where we introduce the Communitas philosophy, a Weekend Experience and a 5-day Residential.

Communitas Workshop

We expect these events to become unique developmental experiences both on personal and professional levels.

Experiential and holistic learning in a live group context are features of all our events as well as our bespoke courses.

A learning community derives some of its potential from the breadth and diversity of its members. We therefore invite participants from a wide variety of backgrounds and communities, and want to be pro-active in generating a diverse group.

This series of cutting-edge 'social laboratory' Open Space Learning events is quite unlike anything ever offered in the UK before and at ridiculously low introductory prices for training courses of this calibre.

5-day Residential

The Residential Week will be an intensive experience, offering transformational opportunities both on personal and professional levels. The experiential laboratory setting draws on a wide variety of group work traditions and we expect it to provide considerable insight and understanding as well as a wide range of skills.

In the short space of a few days, it is one of the most substantial investments you can make into your own ongoing development and your overall capacities to add value and contribute profoundly to the social organisms you are involved in and care about. For some participants, we anticipate, it will lead to an impulse to continue the experience in an on-going situation.

One-year Training Group

New This weekly training group, intended to commence some time in 2010, will provide the regular structure and learning frame to systematically develop your group skills, knowledge and expertise. Allowing an experience of the stages and cycles of on-going group development, participants will become familiar with an integrative spectrum of group theories and approaches relevant to a wide diversity of contexts. Self-directed learning will include skills practice for group leaders in both sub-groups and plenary.

Throughout, the content, structure and process of the programme will be consistent with the notion of the reflective practitioner, bridging awareness of intra-psychic processes, interpersonal and relational as well as large group dynamics. It will provide a unique learning opportunity for enhancing your presence, influence and effectiveness in all kinds of social organisations.
